CTB 2009?

Even though the TdG is not happening this year, and the CTB ride was centered around this event, SABA is still considering having our CTB event in 2009. In years past, we were restricted to mileage, in attempts to get our cyclists off the road prior to the pro's arriving. If we continue with this event, we could have options of a longer ride, such as a century or metric century. We would love your input during this planning stage.

Yes, I think we can add a metric and a century, that would give us the 2 original routes plus 2 new ones.

Longer rides would get more participation, I suggest moving it later into late May or June so we have a better chance with the weather, April has been iffy.

A longer ride means more volunteers as well.

After doing some research, I have found that the Brasstown Bald Buster Century occurs in May (this is from Helen to Brasstown Bald), and the three/six Gap is in Sept. It would be good to have an event possibly in early June, but not a duplication (routes/etc.) of the already existing events. There are several vineyards in the area (Three Sisters/Crane Creek), which could be a possible draw for a ride. SABA is looking for input - what's your's?????? (it's okay to think outside the box-any suggestions welcome!)
